Enfield Bullet Cache!

New member
Took the G2 out this evening. I located a target in the 72 range (bullet) and dug around it with my shovel, taking care not to get too close to the target spot. Ended up diggin 13 Enfields out of that one hole. And the wonderful thing is, I knicked 7 of the 13 bullets with my shovel while circling the ONE bullet that I had detected. Burns me up! Oh well, still a great find and needed to tell someone. Also found the small knapsack/ammo pouch buckle in the same hole leading me to think that a soldier left his pouch of ammo behind. I bet he freaked out when he reached for a bullet to reload and there twernt nairn.

Nice bullet spill, for sure. Spills are tough to keep from kissing a couple of whats in the spill. Nice digging! HH jim tn

Thank you kindly fellows. I thought about maybe finding a brass finial, but would the ammo bag need a finial-type closure with already having the old buckle and leather strap? Of course, I'm assuming that the small buckle was what was left of the ammo pouch.
