Ended The Month With A Barber Quarter & 25 Silver Total

Sooper Dave

Well-known member
We have had a very mild January and has allowed for some good detecting weather. I had my best month on silver and found the most silver this last week. It hasn't been anything real old but has been a lot of fun. Saturday I had a chance to get in one last hunt for the month and went to an old school I've been trying to get on for a while now. It's a bit of a drive down there and the owner said he was wanting to detect it himself. So I scrambled to come up with another spot before dark. I headed down to a small wooded area that was next to some old schools but a new one was built and all the property was disturbed around it but this little patch of woods. There wasn't a lot of signals there but the first decent signal was a 1902 Barber quarter mixed in with some iron and I dug a 46 Rosie soon after and that was it. Those two silver put me at 25 silver coins for the month! It's been a really good start for the new year. HH David

I feel for you guys up north. I would go crazy in the winter with frozen ground and all that snow. I hope it's an early thaw and spring for y'all.

It's not really THAT bad. Kinda makes you really APPRECIATE the time you do get? Almost like starting a new hobby for the first time when the weather finally breaks in your favor..... On the other hand....I'd probably trade my forum reading and youtube watching for your pile of oldies....???? lol

keep em coming!

As other's have mentioned - we are frozen solid with a bunch of snow here in the Northeast - looking forward to going on a Spring hunt for sure !
