End of Year Deal: Should I?

1st ever post, but I'll be quick and to the point. Stumbled upon metal detecting as a new hobby and have been reading posts on this website along with watching YouTube videos. I initially fell in love with the Tesoro detectors and was fairly set on getting a Vaquero or Tejon. I decided to go back and do more and more research and decided I liked the Nokta experience.
Reasons being:
1. Nokta is actively on the forums, connected and listening to their customers.
2. Everyone on the forums seems fairly content with their detectors and happy with performance.
3. YouTube videos of the Fors Core seem to present it as a stable, non-erratic machine.

Background:
I'm 30 years old and will be detecting in northern Indiana on mainly farm fields, in woods and in friends and families yards. Mainly looking for coins, but initially will dig it all and be thrilled to find anything.
My boss overheard me talking about being interested in metal detecting and bought me a Bounty Hunter Discovery 2200 for Christmas. Used it around the yard once and was impressed based on how cheap the detector is. So, I already have a learning curve for that machine/the hobby in general and when I face reality, I won't really get out and do any metal detecting until April- mainly due to job change and moving shortly.

Questions/Concerns:
Since it will sit in the box for 3 months and I still have another machine to learn, am I jumping the gun taking advantage of an End of the Year Fors Core deal?
Would this concern you based on the Nokta warranty of only 2 years? Any warranty length disappointments? I noted this length as a negative compared to peers, but at the same time, if you never have an issue, then it isn't an issue.
Do you know of any other times during the year when they offer the pinpointer, covers, hat for free with purchase? I'm thinking I'd buy these accessories if I waited until April anyhow, so I'm looking at it as a money saving reason to buy now. I don't really care much about the hat, but the pinpointer and cover savings have me thinking.
Is the Fors Core a good machine for a beginner?
I'm sort of ruling out used machines just because I am new and I want to have as much of a trouble free experience as possible and I'm grateful I do have the funds for new.
Will they drop the price of the Fors Core by April if the Impact comes out before then?

Thanks for reading and sharing your opinion.

Hello Cousinhap
Welcome to the forums and the world of metal detecting.
Im not too familiar with your bounty hunter detector. But Nokta and Makro pretty much have the best coin/relic detectors on the market right now. They listened to customers and put all the features that everybody wanted in their products. Im a firm believer that if you get into a hobby, that you should start with some great equipment to improve your success. Nok/Mak has several coin/ relic detectors to choose from including the Fors core. The end of the year sale on core is a great deal. I think really first that you should decide what features that you want in a coin relic detector. Search modes, discrimination, coil selection etc should be a deciding factor. Nok/ mak pretty much has all of the different features on their detectors that you would want. You just have to decide which ones would be best for your detecting uses. The rain/ dust environment covers and a pinpointer really are not too much to buy seperately if you bought a different detector.
I strickly use only Nok/mak vlf detectors for gold prospecting and I have found gold and done good with all of them. Im sure some of the Coin and Relic detectorist on here can advise you more on which Nok/Mak coin relic detector is good for what you want. The Fors core is a great choice though.
As far as warranty issues. 2 years is alot more then you get for somethings these days. Like my recently brand new $15,000 side by side quad. Which warranty was alot less then 2 years. Unless I pay more for extended warranty
I feel if you regularly use a product that has a 2 year warranty, that if something was going to fail, it will during the warranty period. If you only used the detector twice in 2 years then you never know with that amount of usage.
If there ever was a problem with a Nok/Mak detector then you will find the best metal detector customer service on the planet. Period! With the wonderful Dilek Gonulay leading the way. From day one in their company they take great care of their customers unlike other companies which you are just a number. Dilek is very active on all forums to help customers with questions or problems. She must never sleep. So I never had any concerns with their warranty.
Also this forum has many experienced people always ready to help anyone out with detecting questions. So dont be affraid to ask anything. We all started brand new at one time or another.
Good luck on deciding what detector that you would like get. And Good luck on your detecting adventures.

Well, didn't do it. Felt slightly rushed and will mess around with the Bounty Hunter initially. Also doing some reading- got the book Relic Quest from my wife for Christmas. I have a feeling that I'll end up in the Nokta family (officially) sometime in April. I look forward to evaluating between the Fors Relic and Core for my first "serious" machine. Also looking forward to reading everyone's review of the Impact. Have a safe and prosperous 2017!
Thanks for reading.

Bounty Hunter is a perfectly good place to start. You can learn the basics on that machine and decide if you like the hobby enough to try something better. I have a Fors CoRe and it is really a great machine but I am really looking forward to the Impact. Already have a bit in the piggy bank towards purchasing one. What you will eventually find is that most detectors will find most things in most situations but some detectors have features that make it easier or more pleasurable to do so. The really high end detectors will go deeper but honestly deeper is alot of work and gets old a lot quicker. Not to mention, digging deep holes in public parks doesn't look so good to the public and could hasten the banning of metal detecting. Anyway, enjoy the Bounty Hunter and use it as an opportunity to find out whether you even like the hobby, and if so, what kind of places you like to hunt. That will help you decide on what your next detector should be. HH
