End of an Era machine...........

Just recently rushed in and bought a new Fisher CZ 3D. I felt I can find use for it on beach hunting and the specialty aspect of hunting for old coins in parks..... also has some appeal. But for me as a guy who has been detecting since 1974...........the CZ3D is kind of a swan song detector. The last of the 5KHz/15KHZ .........analog .......built like a tank machines. A dying breed. I made many great finds with analog detectors...this can't be denied. Ones we won't see again. Mine came direct from the factory.....as all of our dealers were out of stock and had no interest to replace stock......most told me that it was either discontinued or about to be. I am happy with my purchase even though I've been ridiculed a bit by the younger detectorists who are of the opinion that as one fellow told me.....and analog machine is "yesterday's trash" !!! I believe that the Fisher CZ3D was the pinnacle of yesterdays trash....I think it still delivers great performance and even though I'm in the great minority I'll be proud to use it. Been detecting 43 years....married 35 years........enjoying both hobbies!!! Anyone else have an comments on the passing of analog detectors??

Analog detectors are not coming back. What you can do to process the signal from the ground with analog design - essentially hardware signal processing, is tiny compared to digital signal processing in software.

Keep the legend alive.

I have 4 analog CZ's and they aint going anywhere. My original CZ6a I bought when they first came out and it's still going strong. That thing has been through hundreds of salt water beach hunts and dropped so many times I can't count and it is still deep as they come and ID's the way it should.

I recently bought a CZ3D and have found an Indian Head cent, war nickel, barber half, and 10k gold ring that my Minelab 3030 missed. If you want to find nickels the CZ3D is a great machine.

I wish i had my 3d back im on the lookout for another one, i believe it is every bit as good as my f75,3030,deus,v3i, i have hunted behind these machines with it and found stuff. I let it go and i never should have. Have actually thought about selling all my other machines and just getting and hunting with the 3d only,,, i think it is that good.

Funny that you should say that....I just got my CZ3d back from a one week exchange!! I got to use my friends V3i and he got to try my Fisher CZ 3D...........the man was mesmerized!!! I've never seen anything like it....Bob was a Whites user all his life from 1974 to 2016...totally loyal to Whites.Said he liked their rugged build quality.....when I offered an exchange with him on my previous detector a ( Teknetics G20) he wouldn't touch it..... was afraid as he said.....the flimsy thing would break and he'd be on the hook for it!!! LOL. Well he was intrigued with the CZ3D build quality and ease of use..... after using it for a week I had to pry in out of his hands. Loves the tones a meter. As he said...clean definite sounds on deep targets!! .I was shocked, when he called me to tell me that he sold his V3i and is waiting for his Fisher CZ 3D..........................I didn't see that one coming. As for me the Whites V3i provided nice entertainment but ...I prefer a real metal detector!!!

Haha,I regret selling the one cz-3d i had, found me more gold jewellry than anything after it. It was just a killer good machine. And i have to say im not a fan of digital detectors they are effected more by interference and well are not as accurate in my opinion. The old tech sometimes is the best, just like how old appliances are basically bulltetproof and will last 30 years CZ are basically the same.
