Sven can explain this better than I can...
But I have run into EMI in several places with different detectors.....
The Explorer SE Pro of mine with noise cancel didn't help in a place
one time,, but this was only one time...
I ran into some EMI with a new MXT Pro in one place,,, I was ready
to send it back..
I move 2 blocks away and it was fine...
I was using my Garrett AT Pro and got into some EMI,, I got out my AT Gold and no EMI..
The only difference was 2 different freqs....
I think Freqs make a difference...
But, EMI is like a ghost, you can't see it, but its there..
