Merry Christmas to all. Now to the subject. My grandson and I went out to our Agri-center(about 3 miles from my home) at about 3:30 PM today and started working thru the parking area. All of a sudden we both started getting what sounded like generator noise jamming.(Let me explain that one) While in the :usaf:
in radio operations and stationed in Turkey and on voice circuits/*/ the Russians would use generator noise jamming on us. So using code words we would jump to another frequency and talk to different stations over Europe and N. Africa. The Russians would again find our freq. and come blasting with the Gen noise jamming again. Hope you can see my point. Tho I've been out to the Agri-center at least 6 times I've never had this experience before. WHAT DO YOU THINK??????? I've never had this problem before Thanks for looking. /*/ This was during the so called Cold WAR from the 60's on. KC AKA

pretty obvious. the russians found you again. :usmc:

Possible underground wires.
Had a similar problem when I was hunting a pasture field once
sounded like a pulsing interference on my detector and it was getting louder as I approaches
the edges of the field turned out it was the electric fencing to keep the cattle in .

Hey Widebody, yeah it looks that way don't it, Floridason

Hi Joel, I know what you mean and I thought of that too. But I don't understand why it never bothered me before, and it was on the outside of each parking
row and the lights weren't on either. It's got me stumped. Thanks for the info though. KC aka

Anything below 15 KHZ can travel UP The band spectrum and jam a metal detector which is a sensitive reciever. Most likely you are close to something that is generating a signal from a bad electrical connection in a power pole or something under groung. Try bringing a pocket AM radio an set it to a low empty frequency and see if you can find the source. They can pick up everything.

To widebody, joel and the beat machine. I guess I got away from the Russkies again.:yo: I went out there again yest, MD'd for an hour and guess what. :surprised:, NO EMI at all. Another theory tho, The power company has a sub-station about 1 mi. from there and I think they might have been working on the grid (which they do from time to time) and later found a line that wasn't cinched down good enough and their QC found it and secured it. I know a lot about their stuff as I retired from there in 1990.Thanks for all your help, and it was quiet as a mouse. HH guys and gals. KC aka

PS The sub-station has a 500KV line coming thru also. KC :whites:

I live in a rural area that has a lot of old and substandard power line runs (with leaky transformers). Wish my power company would fix em'! Glad to here you are now safe from "Ivan"!
