EMI interference

a smaller coil

lower rx gain , even down to 2-3

Frequency shift works for me (set @ -5).

You have the V3 for 3 Months...Was this a problem from the start???

Have you sent the V3 in for updates???

The coil may be bad.

Correlate mode or/and 22.5 only are two other things to try.

A place I hunted the other day had some of the worst EMI I've seen yet. I was able to work around it by a combination of frequency offset and lowering the RX gain. The only EMI I've not been able to work around so far is electric fences. If someone comes up with a solution for those (other than turning the fence off), please share it.

My solution for electric fence has been single frequency 2.5 kHz has been the only one I have got to work and gain down till its stable also I have found the filter selection to play a big role in stabilizing. You can also offset the single frequency. And switching to the 5.3 coil cuts the emi way down. With these combinations I have been able to hunt anywhere- although the emi has effected my pinpointing to the point were I could not use the pinpoint feature.

I have a spot that has about 20 old school transmition lines overhead. Offset,a 5.3 and 2.5 gets me within 10 yards of it but then, can't make it happen any closer. Go in there early morning, or at night, and can run a close to stock settings fine!

An answer for EMI here in another thread... http://www.findmall.com/read.php?66,1040253,1040253#msg-1040253
