Emergency measures from the grocery store

In your neighborhood grocery store, near the Ziplock bags and the saran wrap, there is a product that is made to cover food containers. They look like minature shower caps with the elastic around the bottom. if you manage to find the right size, they fit perfectly over the control box of your Ace 250. The elastic pulls it in tight underneath and provides a very effective, temporary weather barrier. they are clear plastic so the controls are easy to see through it. I discovered them by accident last winter and I intend to keep a couple in my Detecting kit at all times from now on. You never know whan a sudden shower might crop up.

Hi Uncle Willy...hope you'e up and aound again by now. I'm sure that this gizmo has a name but I don't know what it is. To be honest, I came across the thing by accident when my sister sent me a piece of pie with one of them covering the dish. I ate the pie and tossed it in the trash. It was a couple of hours later that the light bulb went on and I dug it out, cleaned it off and tried it on the 250. It was a perfect fit. I will ask her what they are called when I talk to her again. They look like a little itty bitty shower cap with a circle of elastic around the bottom. I'll try to get some pictures too. so you can see what I'm tryig to deescribe. Take care of yourself brother.
