Im taking the ctx to beach with 17 inch coil, first time, what are the best settings. What do i do first , ground balance , high trash , ground coin etc help!!!!! Thanks

When all else fails, put it in the factory Beach program. If it seems a little chatty, turn on the sea-water setting. Run it in manual, as high as it can still be stable. Don't ground balance unless your beach has a lot of black sand!

Thanks what about , ground balance , If it has the check mark does it mean it is ground balance auto?

Ground balance is either ON or OFF. Make sure the box is NOT CHECKED.

Ok let me get this when the ground balance is uncheked it means the detector is autogranbalancing all the time?

You are confusing the CTX with all the common detectors on the market. The CTX does not see ground minerals like a regular detector. The sensitivity (either auto or manual) is used to compensate for changes in normal mineral changes. It;s only when you get extreme levels of mineralization (when the suggested sens level is in the single digits) that you need to consider turning the GB to ON. Turning it on when it's not needed will reduce the abilities and depth capability of the CTX

With the GB off, the CTX compensates for common ground mineralisation including conductive ground automatically.
With the GB On, this activates a ground balance like what is found in gold detectors that is for highly mineralised soils. There is no "tracking" when GB is ON, so you may have to re-balance regularly.

Get Andy Sabisch's CTX 3030 Handbook, and you will double your beach finds! Lots of great information in it! If you have an opportunity to attend Andy's boot camp, I strongly suggest that you go.
