Elite's weight

I love my elite more than my shoulder does.
What is the most practical way to lighten the load.
Mine has a S1 probe attached.
Any help appreciated

Hip mount the control box, using an oversized fanny pack on a DeWalt's 3" work belt. With only the meter & S-1 on your rod, you feel like you are swinging a Tesoro!

I've been doing that for 3 years. Here is the secret to preventing connector damage (all the purists who rod-mount swear you will ruin the connector); attach a cable tie to the coil cable (form a loop) with electrical tape and a snap hook to your belt and hook the loop into it, so the strain (in case you drop your rod: it happens) is on the belt and not the connector. If you want to see a picture of mine, just drop me an email at plugger@dslextreme.com and I'll be happy to send you a couple of views of it. I use the S-8 coil and a Patriot meter with the S-1 and it weighs less than 3 lbs.
