hi all just drove to the beach for a few hours detecting but when i turned my detector on it just started sounding off no matter what i done. any idea's what's caused this to happen my first thought was the coil cable has gone due to me hip-mounting the control box but on shaking the coil cable it does'nt seem to make it any worse than it is. thank's mike
 
sure you know, but could be low batteries, on all metal, or could be a power line around...but don't think it will be those?
 
i checked the battery and made sure it was'nt in a/m and theres no powerlines near the beach so everything was pointing towards it being the coil or the coil cable. i'll double check if it's the cable by plugging my mates coil into my control box when i see him before i start hacking at the coil cable. mike
 
see if it still does it when turned on.
