Electrolysis

I have been doing electrolysis for about a year now, and my battery charger stopped working when I try this. The charger meter says that it is completely charged, so puts out no electricity. I think there is some kind of load protection so it always says charging but it won't do electrolysis. Strangely, it still charges a battery, but takes a while to get to a point where it is actually showing that its charging and not completely charged. So I started using small plug in transformers from phones or small electrical devices, and these are slower but seem to work fine as I find more powerful ones that have higher voltages and milliamps. Does anyone know of any reason not to use these?

I use an old phone charger as well. It seems to do just fine, but I do not have anything to compare it to in terms of time and efficiency as its the only thing Ive used.

Ive let it run overnight on iron objects the size of, say, a mason jar lid, and its done a good job. I messed around with some copper pennies and let them soak for an hour or two and that was enough to take the crud of that sized item. I don't have much experience yet so I cant say more than that, but I cant see any reason not to use them.
