electrical interference

Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of a new Explorer. How do they handle electric fence intereference or those darned invisible dog fences? I've had some problems with my "other" machines.

I've had major interference at many houses, some of which may be due to underground wires, pipes and debris, I have not fared well near electric fence. I'm not sure if all this is normal for the Explorer or if I need to get mine checked out.

I would say that it is normal, as I have a New Zealand electric fence surrounding seventy-two acres which can be shut off to different sections.
I noticed that when I had the power off to the section surrounding the alfalfa field, I was still picking up some falsing from a fence, over two hundred feet away.
Using the noise cancel didn't help much.
However, lowering the sensitivity did.
The detector smoothed out quite well and I was able to hear a faint signal on a large cent at twelve inches plus.
I was happy, as this is my first large cent ever.
I hope this helps.
Val.
