Eldorado

what unit in the tesoro line replaced the Eldorado (can u still buy the Eldorado new) and does it preform as well? thanks

Hi RRWarren,

The Vaquero replaced the Eldorado. I haven't been able to locate an Eldorado for sell new.

The Vaquero has better depth. It is a very good machine. The V has a higher operating frequency. Some people say this helps locate certain precious metals better.

The Eldorado has a little wider range of acceptance of metals. It can see iron better than the V. That helps in trashy conditions by seeing what's in the ground a little better and it gives a little more ability to deal with masking.

Both models are very good machines. Just depends on your preferences.

My choice was the Eldorado. Price played some consideration. You can purchase an Eldorado for less than the V. I would like to acquire a V also.

I used to be concerned with depth. But now I feel that most Tesoros are deep enough for me. I think most targets are not very deep. I prefer to get the best capability in moderate depths.

That's my 2 cents,

Tab is correct. The Vaquero replaced (?) the Eldo. I personally think in the upper non-ferrous ranges the Eldorado more than holds its own. I get pretty good depth with mine across the entire non-ferrous range but the Vaquero does have an edge in depth on the lower scale. I do keep my threshold set pretty high and pinpoint in discrimination. If I'm hunting in all metal I do turn the threshold level down however. Monte has a comparison on the this site that you might find by doing a search.

I have an Eldorado I bought slightly used on Ebay. They show up there from time to time, often in near new condition. I like mine very much. Also, you might put in an add in the classified part of this website if you decide you want one.
