Del, I have personally owned three Vaqueros and probably 4 or 5 Eldorado's (

I find my El Dorado go's deeper than the Vaquero but years on the EL must give it an advantage. I too did not care for turning off the disc. mode to get to all metal on the V. The three way toggle, all metal, disc and battery test is a great feature found on both the EL and the Silver. I am so impressed with the Silver Umax with a web coil that I sold the V for it and find it a better producing detector, pulling very deep coins. After years on the EL and thinking it was time to upgrade I found for my hunting style and conditions that a lower end model was the better choice and a much better performer.
I have no time on a Bandito but think it would also be a better choice. All three of my detectors have interchangeable rods and coils except for rod color making that a plus also. Bottom line I would buy another EL before any other machine. The Vaquero is a fine detector but is just not the right choice for me. The proof is in the finds.

I was kicking around the idea of getting a vaquero as a back up detector. From the above posts maybe I shound rethink it. Anyone out there that likes their vaquero? And why?

Great thread here.......I hopefully will be swinging an Eldo uMax sometimes this week. Hope to post some pics of CW bullets/relics later on(if I can find something).

Hey Monte----I was hopeing you would "chime in" on my post!---Thanks for your input & thank you everyone that responded to my post--much appreciated.----I've had 3 or 4 V's in the past but have never had an Elorado and want to try one (based on what all I'm hearing about them).----Only got one small problem here--I CAIN'T FINE WUN!! -----I shouldn't be saying this--nobody ever will sell theres!! ----If you got a good one you'd sell (anyone)---lemme know! -----------Regards, Del
