Eldorado vs 1236 X 2 Fisher

Hi All,
I'm a coin shooter at hart. I do a lot of parks that are trashy. I also do old home sights.
I recently injurd my arm, before the accident I was looking into doing competeition hunts.
These are the two machines I was looking at. Any guidance?
Thanks

I chose the 1236X2, because of hip mounting for fresh water hunting(I do very little) and and push button pinpoint.I also like the Iron disc mode and silencer on the 1236x2.This suprised me until I use them. If you live where there is a lot of bad ground the Eldorado might be the best. The Eldorado manual ground balances in both all metal and disc modes.Good luck! CG

I have an Eldorado that I bought because I felt with the manual ground balance, the sensitivity and the all metal mode it would be a fair gold machine for an all purpose detector. I especially like its quick, clean response to a target, only needs one 9 volt battery, and its light weight.

Hi James,
I too, have been giving some thoughts toward competition hunts and have been doing some research toward that end. Since competition hunting mainly involves detecting freshly buried coins and tokens, you want to make sure you have a machine that works well at detecting freshly buried coins. From what I can determine, coins are buried from 0 to maybe 6", and often many of these are on edge. Ground conditions can vary, but it seems the hunts I have read about took place in the summer months in dry ground. So in my opinion, a good competition machine would be one that works well in dry ground, able to pickup freshly buried dimes on edge at 6" and since speed is critical, it would have to be very easy to pinpoint with.
Now, with all that said, I can not tell you which of these two machines would meet that criteria <img src="/metal/html/cry.gif" border=0 width=40 height=15 alt=":cry">
Good luck with your selection <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

I have used an Eldorado for 5 years in hunts and have found it to be very good. I like the 3 frequency switch, keeps down chatter from other machines. And the 2 pounds won't kill your arm during an hour hunt.
