Eldorado Scores Trash and.....?

Sven

Well-known member
Went to a local heavily hunted beach, it's always loaded with nails and junk that everyone leaves behind or sets their disc. too high......Decided to see what the Eldo would do hunting all metal mode.

5 hrs hunting non-stop, I'm bushed. Dug everything I heard.
And just dumped the finds into my pouch, had to go back to my gear bag to unload 4 times.

Here's what the pile-o-trash looks like. But, wait..there's more in that pile than meets the eye.

Started picking out the trash--bottle caps, hair pins, nails, screws, washers, pull tabs, rivets, etc. What a haul, no wonder I'm so tired.
Pulled out of the pile-o-trash:
4--Loonies
6--Quarters
14-Dimes
11-Nickels
40-Pennies
==================
$7.85

1--Junk ring
1--Junk pendant
1--Tweezers
and a bonus item:
SanDisk 8GB Extreme III memory Card.
Darn, my memory card reader won't read anything card past 2MB. Was hoping to see what's on it.

Your photo speaks volumes and makes my back and legs hurt just seeing it...

I generally get discouraged in some of the hardpacked parks where I live and either move on or raise the disc. Beer caps, faygo caps, soda tabs foil, shredded soda cans....the list goes on. I continue to hunt an old innercity school (about 1acre lot) where I've pulled close to $100 in clad. There was so much clad I couldnt lower the disc until I cleared some of it out. I spent most of my time on my knees with a pinpointer just sweeping the ground. It was easier than getting back up sometimes. There is so much trash that I found 2 earrings retrieving coins. Found 3 silver rings and am hoping to focus on gold and deep coins next year. The school is 120yrs old and the ground is like clay, gummy when wet and very hard when dry. I averaged just under minimum wage every time I went to the school the past 2 years.

Thanks for the reality check.

Not much in there sad to say, lots of bottle caps at one end, hairpin and nails in the rest.
Beach area is not that long, maybe 200', swim rope and buoys only extend about 20' into the water.
As the depth drops off sharply after that then to a drop off to about 40' deep.
You'll be able to see it in the picture. Note the life guard sign--SEVERE DROP OFF.
Only found a handful of change and one silver ring all that detecting time in the water using a DP Wader.
I don't think anyone has been in there with a Pulse yet. The PI Pro I picked up this summer
might find a few of the deeper items. Just have to drag the gear over there on the bus. If I knew
for sure I would find gold, would take a Taxi.
