I'm learning my new Eldorado, and was just wondering if there is anyway of cutting down on the foil, and still not miss the fine gold rings?
This is what I was doing. (starting on the arrow in dicrinination mode )If I got a good signal on a target, I would raise my discrim to 5 cents if I got a good signal there I would dig. I was digging alot of aluminum pop tops. Any trick you guys could share to cut down on the digging?
If I come of the arrow just a bit / half way between the arrow and 5 cents I would be digging alot of foil
Thanks...........HDJ

you can set your discrimination level just beklow a zinc cent and get the zincs, Indian Heads, copper cents, dimes, quarters and higher-conductive coins. Doing so, however, means that you'll still get hits from the higher-conductive screw caps. You have to dig some junk to get the desired targets.
If you want to find the less-conductive US 5

but I dont think that anything can reject as good as my ears. When I first got my Pantera, I would dig anything, carefully listening to each tone. Now, I can reject foil, because it almost never sounds the same each way I pass the coil over it, and it has a muted tone as compared to nickels. Rings almost always have a nice symetrical sound to them. Thats why I am hooked on detector phonics!

Hi, Set the disc knob just above foil...orjust before Nickel cuts out...if you can get a good sound on a nickel you can find the gold! The Pull Tabs, according to James at Tesoro are really hard to disc out completely...foil & scraps & junk items if large enough or folded will for the most part always sound...esp the big pieces. you never know till you dig it !!! I have 2 Eldorados but wanna trade one for a SandShark. DaleW
