eldorado and black sand

Hello everyone.
I have an El Dorado, which I love. However, I tried to hunt at Lake Tahoe last summer and had a bear of a time ground balancing the darned thing. Same happened to me a few weeks ago at Santa Cruz. The wet salty water was doing weird things to the ground balancing. Dry sand was great. However I couldn't get the steady tone in wet salt water nor black sand. Any suggestions?
Thank you all.
Peter
