El Dorado hot on iron?

Recently hunting an old farm house location, my El Dorado would hit on iron even with the disc. cranked all the way up. Is this normal for this unit?

what kind of Iron , are you talking flat cans bottle caps that kind of Iron can be difficult for any machine

Every detector I've had any experience with seemed to love iron, especially larger, heavier chunks and, aluminum cans as well. I've dug aluminum cans that were crushed and buried from pretty impressive depths when it would have been easier to put them in the trash - so go figure.
