El Bandido II uMax del norte strikes again:tesoro:

Ok, so I did not find any old coins nor did I expect to.
I went to some parks in downtown Portland, OR for just over 4 hours this Memorial Day.
Good thing I was all doped up on pain killers because my back just is not getting it done these days.

But I did recover 286 targets in just over 250 minutes.
I call this rate of pinpointing and recovery the STOP, DROP, POP, and HOP! method.
Basically if it takes me longer that a minute to pinpoint and recover a target I have some real issues with how I detect in parks.

The take was:
81 pieces of trash including 30 pull tabs and 15 bottle caps.
174 pennies
7 nickels
14 dimes
2 quarters
1 Canadian penny
1 Foreign coin (Chinese I think)
2 keys
1 Sansa Mp3 player (crushed)
1 308 cal. live round
1 Very large mans ring (was cheap plated gold at one time)
1 really nice and very small .925 silver ring with Emerald? I am not sure and need to have a jeweler look at what I got.

TOO MUCH DIRT, NOT ENUFF TIME!

Good find hope you didn't re injure the ole back.

I avoid downtown like the plague. Which parks did you hit to round up that many pennies? Did you hit Washington Park? No wonder your back hurts. You have my deepest sympathy.

About 2 hours at waterfront park and the next 2 hours at the north park blocks.
I lived in downtown for awhile back in 1997 and I know what you mean about the freak-shows that haunt downtown city parks.

Some guy on methadone or I don't know what kept pacing back and forth for over an hour in one park block that I worked heavily.
Then a group of 3 idiots kept trying to size me up and decide if they could rob me I guess.
I just made sure to keep eye contact and get up facing different directions each time, and to get up abruptly.
Freak-shows that is all I got to say.
I understand that some folks have mental issues and I accept this, but the druggies, alcoholics, and general low-life just piss me off to no end!

Oh, and I also took out my cellphone several times to show I could call 911 if needed, and then I made sure to show my nice never used lock-blade that I carry especially for this purpose. I also carry pepper spray and I was using only a small gasket scraper to recover, but it was bench grinder sharpened to a fine cutting edge:)
