Ekplorer in mineralized soil - CO

Chezhinkle

New member
Hello!
I am new to this forum and new to the Minelab Explorer. I live in northern Colorado where the soil is highly mineralized. I am not finding much of anything deep (a penny at 5" is the deepest) and I am finding no silver--nor clad dimes & quarters for that matter. Anyway, although I have many questions, I will start here. What would be the best way to set up my machine in our highly mineralized soil? I have experimented with many settings but nothing is really clicking. Also, are there any experienced Explorer owners on this forum in CO or WY that could help me? Thanks in advance.

P.S. After much frustration with a Garrett GTI2500 here in CO, I was advised that it was a poor choice of machine for mineralized soil. Two competent sources advised that I needed either a DFX or the Explorer. I opted for the Explorer, as I was informed it would be the best machine available for mineralized soil.
