Out with my T2 yesterday April 26th. The fields of this farm can be sparse in finds. After quite a number of bits of junk. This 4th Century Nail cleaner was found 50 mm-long with some decoration. These were worn at the belt of a lady together with tweezers & a small spoon like item for getting wax out of the ears ! Sometimes they were attached to a Chatelaine brooch .
The spur rowel came up later on another field at the farm. quite small circa 30 mm across .Not too sure of the date as they changed very little over the years.Added to those two was a George 3rd 1/2d in poor condition.Hope you all had a good Easter holiday. The name comes from Ancient Greek times from the feast of Astarte a Greek Goddess.
