I am an avid tesoro user, especially the HOT detectors. I am on my second Cibola and after four times out, I have not dug a nickle. I was going by the scale on the disc knob and I never took the time to check an actual nickle. Today I found that I had to set the knob to just above iron and the nickle signal would fizzle well before the nickle setting on the disc on the detector. With this new found knowledge, I immediately found the deepest nickle that I have ever found, nine inches. After all this fussing, I remembered a field test of the Cibola and the tester stated this fact. I have the 5.75 coil on the Cibola and it amazes me with the depth. I have a thing about proper ground balance and since the Cibola is preset, I am constantly pushing the pinpoint button and lowering the coil to the ground to check the ground balance. I am constantly amazed that the ground balance is almost always perfect. No threshold change or if there is, it is slightly positive. This is alot of bang for the buck in a detector. R.L.
