Eclipse 6x10 vs SEF 8x6 Questions

Wondering if anyone has used both side by side in a test garden. Mainly interested in target separation and depth. I have a MXT and considering both. Thanks Joe

Hi Joe,both coils are good for the job you want them for,i had the 6x8 sef coil and found it brilliant, deep, good in the trash and sensitive to tiny items. What made me decide on the sef though was I saw a video of a guy trying to get a target under a piece of what looked like terracota slate...(highly mineralised clay). He could get a good signal with the sef but nothing with the eclipse. As the sef coils are renowned for their ability in high mineralisation I saw no reason to doubt the video so I bought one.Great little coil.

I own and use both of these coils on my DFX,albeit its a differant machine to the MXT but they both use the same coils,my favourite one for about 6 years was the 10x6 but about a year ago i bought the SEF 8x6 coil and in just that short time duration has leap frogged into the No1 coil, its deep for its size, pinpoints very well, the signals and tones just seem sharper, target seperation is top notch.

I feel that by adding the small SEF coil it has given the detector a new lease of life.
