Eclipse 5.3 RX Gain Limit

I got a good deal on one of these - not "V rated" - It is marked "6 X" and "0468"

It works well but I can't use RX Gain above 10 or it goes into a continuous looud deep pitched buzz. Is this because it's not a V series coil or is it defective?

Also, it air tests 6" on a clad dime vs 10" for the standard coil - in the Coin and Jewelry Program.

Any data out there??

Thanks

I know the non v rated coils will work but are limited as to how much gain you can run and you cannot use boost on it. I used a 950 off my MXT that is non v and still found plenty of stuff with it.

couldn't get the Rx Gain above 12. I also didn't NEED to get it up much because the V3 was doing just fine. I couldn't run Tx Boost, but I tried two 'V-tuned' coil and couldn't use Tx Boost with them, either. That's mainly due to the intense, ugly mineralized ground I was working.

In Coin & Jewelry with the 5.3 Eclipse, I got hits on 1

with V Coils---Will that machine run any Smother OR get any Better Depth using the V coil on it---I feel I Am able to find Targets at a Slightly Deeper Depth as it seems that I can run the machine at a higher gain and still be Smooth (Wide Open)---In my opinion; It sure would Not hurt anything to use the V Coil on the MXT ? ?------D.W.
