Easter With The Seniors

Easter Sunday turned out to be a great event at my house! You just cannot avoid it when you are surrounded by the ones you love and hold near and dear to the heart. The weather caused the Easter egg hunt to be indoors, but the kids just acted as though this wasn

I am guessing some of these senior citizens you visited do not understand about how the butterflies fly?
Sad, is it not that U and I are not far from this age?
I think it was very great of u to have done what u-did, Sister Suzy, and I tip my bounty hunter ball cap to u, lady!

That's great little sis'. I've always liked to be around old folks, which is good as I'm becoming one pretty fast. Most of them like to talk and I love listening to the stories they tell. It's sad that so many wind up all but forgotten. You and the group did a great deed.

And believe me those old folks appreciate what you and those kids did for them.I visit a nursing home several times a week to visit mt mother and have made friends with a few of the residents. Many are bored and lonely and gestures like yours mean a lot to them.

The kids and the seniors.. Both having a great time [with one exception]. I does not get much better than that.
Thank you for the story
All the best

have company, and these really did enjoy the kids, too. Some of them were a little shy, but for the most part, they acted great!

are fun to visit. They all have a story to tell, and will gladly share it with anyone willing to take the time to listen.
It appears that you had a great time with the children and seniors, which I think is great. Did you ever find out if the little old lady that drank the dye was OK the following day?
Thanks for sharing a very enjoyable story. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas)

not have to have vinegar in it, just warm water, so I think the only thing that could have happened to her was pee blue for a while! If I had had a cup of tea, I would have fixed it for her!

with the dye? My Grandmother used to use vinegar with the dye...we also used a clear crayon to draw designs on the eggs.
Easter was always a big family day, we all went to church, met at my Grandparents house for a big dinner, then had a big Easter egg hunt. When I was six years old, I threw an Easter egg at my cousin Peggy, hitting her in the back of the head as she was running from me...my Father wore my bottom out with a belt. I had caught Peggy eating most of the jelly beans that were in my Easter basket. From the way that she was screaming you would have thought that I had hit her on the back of the head with a rock...she just did the wild screaming to get me into bigger trouble. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas)

darker and make the eggs prettier, but it sure did smell. Now I remember one year, mother couldn't buy dye for us, so we used food coloring. Got the same results!
I got a kick out of telling my grandkids that I had a hen that laid special eggs just for Easter. They are green and some are blue, depending on the chicken. They thought this was really neat.!
And I bet you were a handful when you were little. Didn't take much of that belt to make us straighten up tho, did it??
