Went out Easter Sunday for some fine spring breezes, sunshine, and dirt time. The Pro was set on Pro Zero with Iron Audio off, stock coil. Plan was to head to a local park in the morning and then after Easter lunch, a return to the "Sunday in a field of Nickels" school I posted about a few weeks back. Besides every bird around happily chirping ridiculously loud as the sun rose, the park produced a mix of clad, the copper ring, and the broken junker ring.
After lunch, as tempting as it was to take a nap, the ol' Pro said lets dig s'more, besides as JimTn said so well, "They who snoozes looses". The school tossed another couple of handfuls of mixed clad (and all of the 52 nickels) in the days totals. And some nice other "extra's" as well. The '57D Washington quarter ID'd in the 88-90 range. I've found that 2 or 3 clad quarters stacked on top of each other also ID on the Pro in this range as well. The Class Ring is 10K gold and rang in a solid low tone, and a tight ID range of 50-51. There is a name inscribed inside the band, so the owner track down has begun.
Totals for the day ended at 69 quarters, 41 dimes, 52 nickels, and 20 pennies. 182 coins for $24.15 and of course, the glow of a golden sunset. And not forgeting the egg, this Pirate fellow was resting in a small shrub and is for all the Pirate's at heart out there.
