Early Morning Hunt With The Tesoro Outlaw:usaflag:

I decided to take the Outlaw out for a spin at a local park this morning. I set the discrimination at 'iron' and the sensitivity at '10' and started swinging away when it was just barely enough daylight to see by. I hunted about 2 1/2 hours, before calling it a day. I found 3 pieces of silver jewelry, some type coin pendant and the usual coins and trash. I wouldn't be digging those big pieces of trash if I had not found a silver dollar and some half dollars in the area.

Tesoro Rocks! :tesoro::thumbup:

I know you have several models of Tesoro's ...... How does the Outlaw compare ??

What feature do you like most on the Outlaw that isn't offered on your other units??

Nice job tabman. Did you use the Disc mode exclusively?

Yeah. I just like the way discrimination works on the Outlaw.

I just sold my Bandido II uMax, because the Outlaw can do everything the Bandido can do and it has a more pleasing audio tone to my ears.

If I could only have just one Tesoro detector, it would be the Outlaw, because it has a ground balance, ED-120 discrimination and has good depth.

If I could have two, the Silver uMax would be one of them. It's one sweet machine. I really like how it talks to you.:)

The Compadre is a super detector, but the Silver is much better.

What I would really like is a Tesoro Silver uMax with a notch feature.:please:

Thanks Tab !!

Hello Tabman,

Ok, I understand you really like the audio frequency, and I'd bet the fast response & recovery in the small ferrous junk are the typical Tesoro traits. But what about the all-metal mode? How good is that no-motion pinpoint mode, and is the auto-tune all-metal really fast like the Bandito ll

OK, thanks for the reply tabman, I use the heck out of the all-metal mode:thumbup:

The 8 inch brown doughnut coil. It's my favorite coil.:thumbup:

The coil on the Outlaw prototype that I'm using is the 8 inch brown doughnut coil. I like it a lot. I'm swapping out the 9 x 8 coils on my other detectors to the 8 inch brown doughnut coils. The 8 inch brown doughnut coil is 2.5 ounces lighter and every bit as deep as far I can tell.

Yup - that 8 ich coil is excellent! I posted a video on the Outlaw depth and was surprised at the depth I got from it. I hope that coil is around the Tesoros for many years to come.

The open 8X9 spoked coil is handy if you work in the water and sand doesn't pile up on it, but for most applications the 8" coils have worked as well or better for me as well.
