Early detecting photo....

My dad, when they moved, gave me a dusty box of stuff that was taken from my late Grandfathers house. My grandfather is the one that hooked me on detecting in the late 70's. In the box was a bunch of old slides. I had held a couple up to the light and saw weird buildings & stuff & they sat in my basement for a couple years. Then a friend got a new high end scanner that converts old slides to digital. Cool! I pulled out that box & went through each silde.....I found lots of photos nobody in the family ever knew existed...lots of baby pictures, etc. But, my favorite "find" is definately this one......A late 70's shot of me (in red coat) swinging Grampas Whites 4-DB in a park. My late cousin in his soccer gear has a knife while my younger brother Dan (in the cool plad pants) pinpoints.....

Thanks for sharing bill,

I'm sure that picture brings back good memories for you, Us too :)

I can remember wearing the same kind of threads, Including bell bottoms and Peewee Herman shoes and the long hair......In today's world they would call us goofy or other names wearing cool stuff like that, Times have changed except for metal detecting.....The equipment keeps getting better.

Thanks again Bill, Sorry to hear about your cousin and did your brother Dan venture into treasure hunting too?
HH, Paul (Ca)

probably because I loved history and had all the luck....first coin ever back then was a Silver Quarter....Plus I wouldn't let them have a turn...made them dig! :crylol:
My brother Dan became a collector, but of different things like records, and just yesterday was in NYC hanging out with DJ Jazzy Jeff of "Fresh Prince" fame.....
