Recently sold him my S-5 coil and found dealing with him low hassle and trustworthy. That's one of the reasons why I trust doing business with people on Findmall better than typical "auction" sites- Many of the people here we've seen posts from and known for years, and if you don't recognize the name just click on it and review their history of posts and how long they've been on. In particular too, see how they've dealt with others in past selling or buying of detectors or accessories.
Even if you don't find they have a history of selling/buying, if they've got a long history in general on the forum and posted many messages, then to me that means it's very unlikely they'd be looking to scam somebody or sell them something that wasn't in the condition they claimed. For the most part my thinking is- Who is going to build up a long history and reputation on a forum just so they can pull one fast one years later? Yea, nothing is ever a sure thing, but I like my odds much better on Findmall than other sites, and of course no fees being involved is another big plus.
Didn't even have to do these things to review EarthlyPotLuck's history, as I've enjoyed his posts on Findmall for a long time, so almost like an old friend I felt trust would not be an issue.
Tip- If you are looking to buy something, don't just wait for somebody to post it for sale, but instead put up a Want To Buy ad. I've picked up detectors or coils by doing just this, and often at a better price then what I expected I could find it for.
