Eagle Spectrum repair?

Ted S

Well-known member
I have a Whites Eagle Spectrum that I purchased new way back when. It seems to have the touch pads a little sticky. I want my 14 year old granddaughter to hunt with me this year and she will be using this machine. Since I am in Iowa where would be the closest center to have it gone thru? Thanks! Ted

The first step would be to call the factory, they have shelves of parts, new and used and you might just get a replacement part real cheap, ( sometimes free, I have heard) (541) 367-6121 You could do the repair yourself...........

Next step is go the service section of White's site http://www.whiteselectronics.com/support/service/service-centers if you want to send it in and have it checked out and fixed.

My first choice of service centers is the factory but Electronics Exploration in Lombard, IL is also very good.

If I were you I'd send it to Tony at Electronic Explorations in Lombard, Illinois.
I live 10 minutes from Tony and he's the Best I've run into with Whites machines.
Tony has been with Whites for I think over 30 years if I'm not mistaken. I've
known Tony for about 12 years now and if it's a Whites repair I need, he is the
go to guy. Honest as the day is long. So send him your Spectrum and you'll
have no regrets, neither will the Grand-daughter.I see Tony quite often whether
it's picking up my Treasure mags. or just to say Hello. Trust me on this, you
can't go wrong with Electronic Exploration. Great guy and an Electronic Genius.
Good Luck.

P.S. Pick up the small 5.3 coil (6.59 khz) for this machine as Tony has them in stock along
with other older coils . (brand new on his shelves) It'll lighten the load for your grand-daughter
and she'll love you for it. Hope this truly helps you out!!!

Thanks all for the suggestions! The machine is pretty light now. When I bought from Ralph at Sun Ray I had him install the hipmount kit on it.

Just a little update. I sent it to the factory and they replaced the screen and touchpads and installed a new speaker and headphone jack. Mary Hudson called yesterday and the bill plus shipping was a touch over 106.00. I do not think that is a bad price for this machine. It will be fun to take my grand daughter along and pass on the tradition. I still think that the Eagle Spectrum is tough to beat!
