Eagle buttons

PJ and all = here's my dug eagle buttons with letters. They sure are exciting to find. steve in so az

Those are beautiful buttons. Are they Civil War, or Indian Wars? The ground they came out of sure was kind to the brass. Good display.
 
there are a few advantages to not getting much rain. And dry preservation of relics is one of them. Most of the hundres of things I have dug come out just needing a light brushing off. These buttons came from a fort of the 1850-60's. Steve
 
They sure are more dear to us - not that a common one isn't. I just got the R button (mounted rifles) last year. What a neat one. Also, I was lucky as the Dragoons were located here for several years and lost a few. Now if I could only dig a Dragoons belt buckle ! They are going for $30,000 now, Steve
