Eagle breast plate.:fisher:

Dug this Eagle breast plate this morning with the mighty Mississippi flowing just a few yards away. I have been an avid old coin hunter for the 41 years I've been enjoying this hobby and in my quest for old coins I have dug dozens of period lead and a few buttons, but this is my first breast plate. A question I have is, do many of you relic hunters have some of your damaged relics restored? I was hunting with the Fisher F 75 LTD. HH jim tn

Hi Jim--I personally have never had any of my relics restored. Nor do I clean them other than rinsing them off in the sink. My list includes cs belt buckles and southern cross of honor shields with owner's name engraved. So not just ordinary relics. It's your decision you make the choice. Steve

You are a master hunter ! Keep Diggin. CCH

nice finds, I have heard of people having some buttons repaired but I don't know about plates.

Jim - I've had a few relics repaired before by RoFro. He's awesome. Its a matter of personal choice. Here's one he did for me that was broken in three pieces. Nice finds again. CCH

Wow, nice spur and great job restoring it. I usually leave things as they come out of the ground, but thinking about giving the plate to my grandson. Hence, my thinking about restoration. Thank you! HH jim tn

Jim, that is an awesome find! I'm sure your grandson will love it either way and be proud to say "my grandpa found this!" HH

Great find!! I have found a 1/3 of one, but a whole one is on my lists!!!!...............Mark
