undertoe

Member
I have this posted on today's finds forum, but since I found them with my Deus,I gotta post it here?
Out in the woods today with my buddy,it's an old site where a few relics have come out of the ground, today was no exception.
The belt plate was about 8"deep,but the 11" coil had no problem finding it.
It looks like the I only found the front of the buckle,we gotta get back in there and find the other half.
Does anyone know what kind of belt it went to?
The suspender buckle has some nice detail on it also.
I found the Mass Volunteer Militia button at the same site only on a different hunt.
XP Deus ROCKS!!
I can't wait till Andy's boot camp comes around,my buddy and I are sure to attend.

I've never found any civ where I'm at, but that is one sweet find! I'm sure someone knowledgeable will help you ID it soon--congrats!

Very nice find! You have a die stamped belt plate with the 1851 pattern sword belt plate. The two green spots where the tongue of the buckle was located. These plates are pretty rare. A pic of this buckle can be seen on page 230 of Plates and Buckles of the American Military 1795-1874 by Sydney C. Kerksis.

Thanks stumpr,,,,I knew someone would straighten me out.
I found this in some woods behind my buddy's house,it's loaded with old stone walls and cart roads.
I'm running the 11" coil and Vance's deep coin program,,,Great Combo!!

Awesome plate but geez people don't call it civ, poc, rev, call them what they are not what those dummies do on tv

What number did the eagle buckle ring up as?

Hey Mack,if I remember correctly it rang up as a solid 86 in all directions.
I can't wait to get back out to that spot,,,although it's going to be a while with two feet of snow on the ground.:veryangry:
I was running Vance's deep coin program at 18 kHz.

Nice! I run a similar program. Thanks for the info!
