E2 screen setting

Hi Guys, I got the E2 out yesterday morning and started with a blank screen in advanced edit. I blacked out the far left portion of the screen to the equivalent of -10 iron mask. It made it easy to go to the digital mode by pressing the detect button, then pressing the detect button three times I am back to the smart screen. Is this working the same as if I were running in iron mask mode? Thanks in advance.
 
This type of setting works just like iron mask except you now can use the learn function or black out other areas as you wish.
