E-Trac upper rod modification

Josh(ND)

New member
Have srren some guys cut a hole in the upper shaft to allow the coil cable to still be run up the shafts when using a Sunray pinpointer. Question #1 did u loose any strenght by doing it and #2 If you could or would do it again would you do it differently. Thanks Guys Josh

I did mine and would do it again, i don't think i lost any strength(noticable anyway), rather than a round hole i made an elongated hole so the conector comes out easier when changing coils. The only drawback is that the lower rod won't close as it does without the sunray fitted so its a bit longer when stored.
