E-trac strikes first silver

Tony N (Michigan)

Active member
Went out for a 1/2 hour hunt after work.
Got a good tone. Didn't know it was sterling silver because I got my E-trac yesterday and haven't found anything with it yet till tonight. Pretty good start, huh?
Penny is just for size.

Congrats on your E-Trac's first of many silvers.

Congrats Tony! Your old sites are going to open back up with the E-Trac. It gets addictive the more you use it and the more you learn it. Keep us posted! HH

There were a couple silverfish hits that were deep. The first 6 inches was easy digging. It was a super struggle hand digging down to 10 inches. I had to give up on two of those hits.
I'll go back probably in the Spring when that hard ground is a lot more diggable. Right now it's like rock and concrete. Other places are much kinder with nice sandy soil.

Yea, it will be interesting to see how well I do with this detector. I'm just now learning it. Good thing I went from the Explorer SE Pro to this. But this detector is set up a whole lot differently.

Andy's book may be a help to you. It often compares the E-Trac and Explorer side by side quite a bit. I found the book helpful when I was learning to use the machine.

Tony, Congrats on your first E-TRAC silver. I detected a neighbor's yard yesterday with mine and pulled what looks to be a 1918S Merc. I'll try and post a pic.
