E trac sounds $5 gold

No. That would be a vision. I had a detector years ago that allowed you to do something like that. I wont say witch brand. I was all excited about setting my tone so that gold coins would sound dif than other things. Well after months of really paying attention to that tone i had set i had dug up loads of trash that sounded off in that tone and never once found gold. If i had walked over it i would have dug it but if i walk over it with my e-trac il dig it anyway. Over analysing can be a bad thing when hunting. If it sounds good dig it that's all that's needed.

You can not assign one tone to a specific target but if you change your threshold pitch it will change your target pitches too.
Another use for the specific tone for a specific target could be to not dig a specific tone. An example would be beach hunting and not wanting to dig pennies. Although not a feature all would use I do think it has its place.

HI, spdnj & rbholt, whew thats a mouthfull.

I can tell you this...the gold coins I have found did not sit up and bark like even a remotly good target.

I am shovelhead for a reason...digging lots. But...in a few areas that is not going to work.

and for what I have in mind giving a high tone to lower tone objects of interest may be helpfull.

Thanks for your help,

utahshovelhead

Well I havent found one gold coin in 23 years so if you have than you know more than me. Maybe you should teach me what to listen for. Oh and I didnt mean to sound rude if i did.

Hey rbholt,

Me finding something definitely does not mean I know anything more than you or anyone bro...especially with the gold coins as its just like you say ...digging everything in an area like that is what found them not the signal cause there sure wasn't much of a signal with them just luck and diggging. I appreciate your help on the E question I'm just trying to learn UP know what I mean?

good luck

If you have a spot that you have a good Idea that there is a $5 gold coin or coins there you could discriminate every thing else out and go for the gold.

If it beeps dig.

Hi Jason,

Hey I am in no way trying to be smart back at you but my experiance is that "If you have a spot where you have a good idea there is a $5 gold coin" That is deffinitly the spot I recomend you use NO or little discrimination. I would try that first maybe...but then open the target range and try again. My style of hunting would just work better for me if I could use higher tones on certian areas of the graph but I still want to hear as much sounds as i can overall as I use the sounds so much. Yeah I tend to dig alot ...I know.

Good luck to you.
