Where would a Etrac made in 2008 have been manufactured ????
 
I would guess Australia like all the others
 
Was This before the Malaysia units were manufactured ???????????

Or do I have my places ofmanufacture mixed up ??? And per your statement there were never any Malaysian units manufactured.????
 
well I just don't know about all that ... I was guess they all were made in Australia, maybe one of the oldtimers will know

It would have been manufactured in Ireland Elton.-----It should be stamped on the box if you have the original box for it.---------Del
 
Mine is too ;) not sure what the difference is but people say if ya got one made there to keep it. Im keeping it anyway.
 
I got mine in 2009, Elton. I have the original box and it says Ireland on it. So I'm sure yours was as well.

There is no difference in all the ET's where ever they are made , all my E.Trac's have performed the same and don't forget that most of the machine is made in OZ then shipped to the final assembly where ever that was then . Now its Malaysia . Ireland only deals with warranties .
Both mine were made in Malaysia and the older one has found huge amounts .

Thanks Del.No I don't have the box...... everything else though.........

Minelab confirmed the year most likely as 08, or possible early run 09.. and said it was an Original Minelab ( Not a knock off)... They could not tell me where it was assembled.. Minelab usa only keeps serial numbers for warranty purpose times..

I have found that in the ground numbers will change with the weather but the tones stay the same .
The 12 line is the norm but if at certain depths or condition or contamination the number for a
 
I never had a 'bad' etrac, regardless of where it was made. The Irish one did no better or worse.
I didn't even realize or care where they were made until after I had them for a while.
My thought is as long as its got the Minelab name on it there will be no quality or performance differences outside of normal production tolerances.
