E-trac Programs into the CTX3030

There have been so many posts I may have missed the answer to this question. I have used the E-Trac Exchange program and have mode and pattern files saved on my computer. Can these files be downloaded to the 3030, or will we need to create "duplicate" ones in the 3030? I'm lazy, if I can down load them great, if not, it's no big deal will just take me a little longer to re-create them in the 3030.

The CTX 3030 has quite a bit of functionality that the E-TRAC does not have. And there are a couple E-TRAC "settings" that are not part of the CTX 3030. (e.g. Variability) My recommendation would be to write down the discrimination parameters you found useful with your E-TRAC and apply them to a new program in your CTX 3030. If you had a preference for Fast ON or OFF, etc. you can apply some of those to the CTX 3030 as well. But being able to incorporate things like Combined Audio, Target Trace, Target Trace Pinpoint, Previous Search Mode, etc., and the capability to resize the "bins" and assign different frequency of tones, I think you'll find that you're creating new programs in the CTX, not simply recreating what you had in your E-TRAC. The same goes for the pattern files I assume...........thanks for the information...Like everyone else, I'm chomping at the bit, waiting for the next 5 days for the new machine.......

i really think the only answer is to get some tranqualizers from the doc just dont know how to explain it to him

"well doc you see i am waiting for the new 3030 and need something to calm me down"

oh dear then what happens a white van arrives two men put me in a straight jacket and cart me off

WHAT DO THEY THINK that im INSANE 3030303030303030303030303030 dont worry just talking in my sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepp

Patterns are a new term for the CTX 3030. Patterns now mean something similar to those used in the X-TERRA in that they are simply discrimination Patterns. They do not have an effect on your other settings. Each Search Mode (Coins, Beach, Relic, Silver, High Trash and 5 user programmable modes) have the additional ability to implement one of two Patterns to alter the discrimination level. Pattern 1 and Patter 2. Something similar to Quick Mask on the E-TRAC. But with Quick Mask, the ferrous line was programmed to be line 17. With CTX 3030 Patterns, you can adjust both the ferrous and conductive values used in each. For example, if you chose the factory preset Coin Mode operating in Pattern 1, it comes with what was determined to be a "universal" rejection pattern for coin hunters. Granted, some parts of the world will have different ferrous and non-ferrous values in their coins. But overall, it is a good starting point. If you press the Detect pad, it switches you over to Coin Mode, Pattern 2. Although Pattern 2 in each Search Mode is preset to accept all levels except ferrous line 35, you can alter them to represent a whole new discrimination Pattern for each Search Mode. For example, if you want to open up line 35 and use it as a zero discrimination Pattern, you can. If you want to reject 32/26 - 45, you can do that. If you want to have more discrimination than the stock coin mode, you can do that too. Simply edit your Patterns with the Accept Reject pads. (pages 32 - 35 in the manual) By editing Pattern two in each of your search modes, you can have two completely different levels of discrimination, literally at your finger tip. HH Randy

WOW I want a time machine to skip the next 6 days :stretcher:

Let me see if I understand the Pattern 1 and Pattern 2 under the CTX. Let us say I am using a coin pattern that I modified to use some features that I like and I save it under user mode 6. Now if I decide I want a different pattern using the same modifications I have saved under user mode 6 I would edit this modes pattern 2? Now if I want to use a third different pattern using the same modifications I had saved under user mode 6 I would have to create another mode entirely and save as user mode 7, is that correct? My experience with the E-Trac in switching patterns while retaining all

The terminology can be confusing. But don't misinterpret the new Patterns for anything you have in the E-TRAC. Let me take it step by step, and see if I can clarify it a bit......

The CTX 3030 has 10 Search modes. They include Coins, Relics, Beach, Silver, High Trash and 5 others (Modes 6 - 10) that are programmable by the user.

Each of the 5 preset Modes are preassigned settings, as follows....

And each of these settings are retained in that Search Mode. But any of them can be changed by the user. When you change a setting in one Search Mode, it does NOT change that setting in any of your other Search Modes.

Each Search Mode has eight functions that can be programmed by the user. And each of these eight functions have numerous options.

Among these functions are two Patterns.

The CTX 3030 has two discrimination patterns for each search mode
