E-Trac Over Voltage Condition, With RNB Battery

Altamaha

Member
I am using the RNB 2900 Mah rechargeable battery in my E-Trac and occasionally the detector powers down with an over voltage condition. When this happens the only way to recover from it is to remove the battery for a little while and replace it. Has anyone else experienced this problem when using the RNB battery? Never had this problem with the stock Minelab battery.

Never ! I have had and used the RNB battery in my E-Trac for two years now and never had any negative issues ever as it just is the single best battery made for the E-Trac. All I can say is your machine must be having some type of short inside. Best of luck fixing the problem!

Thanks for the reply roadapple. I have been using the battery myself for over a year and love it. The thing just goes & goes. Only started experiencing this problem (about three times) in the last couple months. Seems like the detector's voltage regulator is sensing too much voltage (possibly a spike) sometimes that pushes it over the voltage threshold. Just a thought.

Maybe the RNB REP on here can weigh in on this?

Fully charge the RNB battery then get a Volt meter and measure the volts coming from the battery.
My battery (RNB 3100) measures 12.5 volts after charging! Maybe you have a battery problem!
If so get ahold of The Manufacturer and I'm sure he will make it right...

Have any of you guys compared your finds before & after getting the RNB Battery? thought about getting one if my Minelab one ever quits, but it seems to be running good still, Thanks
