E-Trac not turning on

Ran into a problem with my E-Trac this year. If I have not used it in a while the power button will not turn it on unless I tap the control box. Then it works fine while I am using it. I can turn it on and off throughout the hunt no problem. Then if it sets for a week or more I have to tap it again. Any ideas?

Sounds like the old weak tension/contact springs on the inside of the battery compartment again. Try pushing the rubber cover at the end in the center when you turn it on and see if that helps. Polish the contacts on the end of the battery with some steel wool and try to figure out a way to gently stretch the springs down inside the compartment out a little.
