I just want to start off by saying that I have been a White's guy since I started detecting and was very skeptical about trying a Minelab. You always hear about guys and gals hitting "hunted out" parks and finding silver. I really had my doubts. Well I am officially convinced that the E-trac is an awesome machine! Tonight I decided to go to a park that I have hunted numerous times over the years with both my MXT and my DFX. This is a smaller park that I never found a single silver coin at it. Well that all changed this evening.
When I first started off I was not used to all the sounds that were coming out of this machine! After awhile I started hearing the sounds of coins and dug some shallow clad. I had to lower the sensitivity from 28 to 26 which helped with some of the falsing I was getting. After about a half hour I got a nice flutey tone and it read a little over half way down on the depth meter. Dug my plug and after about 7-8 inches down out pops the 1917S Merc in very dry soil. Thinking it was just a fluke I continued on and about another half hour I got another nice deep silver tone. Dug down about 7-8 inches and out pops the 1910 Canada dime. That is only my third Canada dime and my oldest. Last but not least I pulled the 1910D Barber at about 7 inches. I have a feeling this machine is going to really open up some new opportunities.
