E-Trac Instruction Manual:shrug:

I have attempted several times to open the 4.2 MB Minelab E-Trac Instruction Manual in order to download and later print out the manual. I've already received Andy Sabisch's Explorer/E-Trac Handbook, so I wanted to have the manual in-hand while studying Andy's book. I've not yet ordered an E-Trac, but I plan to in the near future. While putting together the cash for the E-Trac, I want to study both documents in order to learn as much as possible.

When I attempt to open the Minelab document, I only get to about 1.2 - 1.5 MB and then get the message "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." I sent an email to Minelab about two weeks or so ago, but I've gotten no response at this point. The first attempt at downloading seemed successful and I saved it to my desktop along with the two other E-Trac documents available on the Minelab web site. When I attempted to open the Manual from my desktop, I got the identical error message, so I deleted the bad document from my desktop and have tried several times to download it again with no success, and with the above same error message. The two other Minelab documents are much smaller, but open without any problems. I'm using a newly downloaded Adobe 9.0 version on my computer. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm definitely not a computer guru, so its possible the problem is on my end. Has anybody else noticed any problems downloading the E-Trac manual?

I've been visiting the E-Trac and Explorer forums for about 2 months, and the information has been amazing and extremely helpful. It is also interesting to note how the tone of the topics has changed from confusion, lots of problems understanding the E-Trac, and some complaints about the E-Trac, to an increasing number of posts that are mature and professional, and speak of increasing success for those who've stuck with the process of "learning" the
E-Trac.

Thanks for all the information you've shared in this forum. It has been greatly appreciated and it has been exciting and inspiring. I will continue to visit often or even post once-in-awhile. Bob.

Bob,

I just down loaded the file and hade no problem. Try this : Delete the file on your computer, Go to Minelab; Click on Coin and Relic Detectors, Click on E- Trac. Click on E-Trac Instruction Manaual (4.2) AND DOWNLOAD.This should do it. Let me know how this works.

I'm not having any trouble either.

If you're hitting "open" when you download it......try "save" instead. Might help

Soulds like you connection is dropping out.

Cheers

KatmaninMo if you want I can e-mail you the file. I down-loaded it a couple weeks ago. If you want just send me an email donken@clearwire.net.

And I just ordered my E-Trac on Thursday. Should be getting it this coming week.

Take care.

Don

I had the same problem with another PDF file. It was the acrobat reader. When I down loaded the reader again, the problem went away :beers:

I appreciate the feedback from everyone. It seems that the problem IS with the Adobe Reader. I will download it again from another source and that should cure the problem. Thanks. Bob.
