E-Trac falsing

STL8

New member
I posted this on another forum as well, but thought it couldn't hurt to seek additional comments.

Recently my E-Trac has started falsing on every swing and I can't isolate the problem. No cracks in the coil, nothing between coil cover and coil, coil connection is solid. I've also checked settings to see if I changed anything and all looks good there as well (ie. sensitivity, trash density, ground conditions etc.). I don't believe it's electrical interference as it happened in 3 different areas which are nowhere near each other. I'm going to try a normal reset this evening, but thought I'd reach out here first to see if there's other things that would be causing the falsing. Thanks & HH

do you wear any radio emitting devices? try turning off your cellphone maybe? did you try detecting in each of the 11 channels? i would call minelab too and explain the problem. they might say do the reset, but you can save all your patterns on your computer. if that does not work they will probably want to repair it.

I don't take any radio emitting devices with me while hunting. I will try some other channels after ground balancing though.

I have problem with my stock coil on Etrac sometimes. It falses.Usually on wet grass.
When using the Ultimte or 6X8 SEF on the same ground no falsing. Guess I have a bad coil.

Have you tried another coil??

Mike

Mike - I've only got the stock coil as of now, but will ask a buddy to bring his ultimate over to try out. I'm going to try the reset as well after I save current patterns.

Thanks

Yip mine will do the same sometimes,I find if I turn it off then on again it solves the problem.Sorry this doesn't answer your question, but it is a temporary fix.
