E-trac and V3i stolen.....

GroundScanner

Active member
Had my detectors in my shed and someone broke in it and stolen my E-trac and V3i . Not sure when this happen but today I went to get my X-1 probe of the E-trac to sell to a forum member and there gone. I am pretty pissssed off . I have the S# 's for both detectors and probes so I am on a look out . I am going to call Whites and Minelab to report it and if they ever get them to service they will know they were stolen. I am ready to snap. But that will make things worse, and I don't need that. The she'd is always locked up but I am thinking my son forgot to lock it up and I never thought of looking. The back window was open so who knows. Idk. GS

Sorry to hear that. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your detectors being stolen, some very low pond life in this world, would they be covered by the house content insurance ???

Call home owners and the police..

Call home owners insurance and the police..

Groundscanner, if you are from a smaller sized town and kids stole the detectors, they will show up in the area sooner or later. You might even see the actual criminals using them. Also, start checking Graigslist and look not only in your town, but neighboring cities. My buddy got his stolen camera back when it showed up on Graigslist thirty miles from our town. Who ever stole the detectors will want to convert the detectors into money asap. I had a brand new Minelab Exterra stolen off my back door when it was delivered by UPS and I was not home. I called Minelab figuring the person who bought a brand new detector would try to register it. Minelab told me they would run the serial number periodically. I called for a year or so and reminded them to check, but it never got registered. Good luck and tell every detectorist you know in the area to keep their eyes open.

If there are any Pawn Shops in your area let them know about the theft. If the police do their job they are supposed to inform Pawn Shops but some times they do not do their jobs too well in that respect.

Yep times are bad, they are stealing everything around here as well. My brother set his weed eater down and walked behind the house to get a dog treat for local dog. When he walked back around the house his weed eater was gone. He even saw the truck pull away.

Sorry you lost some nice machines.

GS,
So sorry to hear of the theft of your detectors. As others mention check C-list, ebay, pawn shops etc as they will want to convert the goods into cash. I hope you catch the pathetic
loser(s).

I have been talking to a few people and I stopped over to the Sr. center , talk to the older folks . My sons are going to check around . Yes it does suc. GS

Posting the serial numbers on various websites here might help as well if some one gets an exceptionally good offer on one ""just a thought"". Also there use to be a site you could list stolen detectors on with their serial numbers but I cant remember what it was . Hope you find out who it was and get to prosecute

I never leave my detector in the car or in the shed. It comes back indoors after every use.
Sorry to hear your detectors got stolen. Good luck.

Man that sucks.
Inform local police, pawn shops, near neighbors, White's & Minelab & watch Craigslist.
A friend had his brand new Honda generator stolen. Got home from buying it, went in & around to open the garage door, already gone from his truck, just that fast. Couple weeks later, new Honda generator showed up on Craigslist. The Honda dealer he bought it from had the serial number on paperwork. The seller wanted to sell it at a McDonalds. My friend informed police. He showed up, saw the serial number, then gave some sort of a confirmation signal so then his son who was waiting in the truck called the police. One was nearby and was able to respond and got the guy who had a lot more stolen gear and fake checks + mail.
Hope somehow they come up, and if so, are not wrecked.
Just erks me when this stuff happens.

Did you check with your home owners insurance. Worth a shot..A rider is usually required. But since it was actual home location it certainly might be covered.

I hope the insurance will help you on this. If you get another, just paint it yellow.... KEN

It's not covered under my ins. Now if I would have notified them when I got the detectors then they would have been covered. Ok so there have been a few break ins in the area. But until someone sees someone doing something I will have to wait. I am thinking positive.

My insurance agent once told me that there is a part of the policy that covers contents to a certain amount. In case of a total loss.. When i asked about my guns and sports equipment, he said it is all covered under the same policy section??? But i guess all policies are different.. Insurance????....... I hope you the best..
