E-Trac and Sunray X-8

Got the Sunray X-8 coil for my E-Trac about a week ago, and put it on for a quick hour hunt yesterday. Only the second time using the E-Trac so far ( first time on the beach with the stock coil).

The area I hunted is a total trash pit. Tons of aluminum, bottle caps, can slaw, nails, fishing sinkers ( it is near a pond). It's an older site and has been hunted a lot.

Using the stock Coin mode, sensitivity at 20, found 2 wheaties, beat up 1940 ish nickel, 4 clad dimes, one clad quarter, 5 memorial copper pennies. Dug some trash, but then concentrated on the high tones and the higher 40+ conductive numbers. Pin pointed very well too, and I am used to concentric coils for the most part. After figuring out how to X the target and get the target right on the end of the imaginary coil line, I was picking off the coins easy.

Bottom line...I think the Sunray X-8 is gonna stay on the unit ! I think the only time I will put on the stock coil is if I use it wet sanding. I like that 8 inch coil alot. Still gonna get the X-5 too since I bet it can sniff out a few silvers in places like this, but all in all, that Sunray 8 is a winner for sure.

I love the x-8. It is my favorite coil and stays on my E-trac about 80% of the time. In my area it is almost as deep as the the pro coil and seperates a lot better and of course a lot lighter and easier on my bad shoulder!
