E-trac and Explorer Pro differences

Go to this link here and you can do a side by side comparison. http://www.minelab.com/products/adventure-detectors/x-terra-705?view=compare

You only have to ask why the ET is still in production and the SE is not . oh and the ET is much better, quicker and more functions .

[size=large]apparenly one of the up-grades of the e-trac from the expl. se pro was that the e-trac was more stable. it has less bounce than the previos explorer series suffered from. you can see the screen and the vdi #s at the same time. otherwise i don't understand the other improvements. they still share the same tech. FBS. same coils ect. i had the expl. se and if i could i'd give the e-trac a goe for sure.

I use the E-trac but have also used the Explorers. To say that the Etrac is MUCH better is not so true. I would say that for most the Etrac would be the better machine.

I know of someone who would be able to prove to most anyone that the Etrac is NOT "Much" better, in fact probably none due to the fact that he has used the Explorer since it first came out.

Learning the detector takes precidence over which one is better.

The ET has a better screen , more numbers and better pixels , more settings , better balance less fatigue , more stable on the beach and better on iron .

Not knocking the Explorer's , i have had them all but i think the ET is better.

Mt

I used/use both. The difference in the two for me is not that one is better than the other, it's just in the difference of how they react or i.d. a target.

Something that made a big difference on the etrac was the coil I now use. I don't think the pro coil works as good on the etrac as it does on the se-pro.

I think they reason they quit making the se-pro is because they can make more money off the etrac,

This is a little off the topic but -Is the minelab pin pointer better than the garret pin pointer? I don't know because I've never used the minelab pin pointer but do use the garret and it does a good job.

The garret pointer is to high priced as it is but I've got to have one.Don't think I'd pay even more for the minelab, it does have a depth indicator on it but I don't need that as I can tell the depth already using the garret.

So I think they quit the se because the etrac does have more whistles on it and they can get a higher price. So now your choices for "top of the line" is the lowly etrac or the mighty 3030.

The Garrett is just perfect for the job unless using the GPX ?

The ET is perfect for the job unless in 10 feet of water :D if dry then ET for me , i sold my CTX as i could not justify the cost .
