E-Trac and all-metal

Can you run the E-Trac in all metal? How hard is that to set up if you can. I know that when I go out I want to dig it all in some locations...

Simply put your E Trac in the Quick Mask mode. You can add or subtract ferrous or conduction values to get as much or as little discrimination as you want. Then load the Quick Mask screen into the detection screen. a thirty second job...if your a slow poke.

With the E-Trac's new panel, it's simplicity itself to set up the All-Metal 'pattern'

Here's an illustration of the key's, to accompany Dave's description.

After that you can chose whatever audio mode suits you.

I recommend a 4 tone, Pitch-hold, Ferrous audio, but ultimately it's what sounds suit you.

Great machine, have fun.

When you open the screen all the way, both ferrous and conductive, you are now in the discriminate mode with NO discrimination. This is a zero discrimination mode. You must add a little ferrous to at least discriminate out the ground or you will find the machine to be very noisy and squeaky as you sweep.
Good Luck.

what about the all-metal pattern that is already in the machine is there something up with it because i have read lots of posts about all metal and all i hear is some say there is none on the e-trac,or to open up the quick mask screen.I think the all metal or opening up the quick mask would work but i am wondering which is better the quick mask way or the pre loaded program. Thanx for any info

For the amount of money an E-Trac costs I wonder why Minelab did not put on a "true" all metal mode on it with "true" auto ground "tracking" on it that works in both this all metal mode and Disc mode, like the Sovereign GT and X-Terra 70 has ??
